Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich Release Date:

With some users already opting for an unofficial ROM to make your Samsung S2 a bit more creamy like, but most of us prefer to wait for stable versions of new operating systems that do not invalidate pointless warranties or more to the point force us to do all sorts of geeky techy stuff that may or may not actually work.

Having said this, an official release from Samsung is no reason to assume that it will work properly as many Samsung owners who have had Nexus S Ice Cream Sandwich problems will attest.

Facebook update from Samsung Norway:

It appears that the northern European Samsung guys have leaked a bit of information out that may begin to shine some light in the ICS updates that will arrive for other Samsung devices, with only the pretty dreadful Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Nexus currently being unveiled officially.

It seems like this statement is pretty clear:

Samsung plans to launch Android Ice Cream Sandwich to the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note towards the end of the first quarter of this year. When more info is coming so we put it out here on our Facebook page!

*please note that this is a translation by Bing..;) from this update here.

And as you can see from this update, there will also be a proper ICS update for the Galaxy Note also.

Thanks must go tote ever vigilant guys at Phandroid for spotting this little tip.

With the Galaxy Note AT&T option being available from the 19th of February as we reported yesterday, many buyers will be pleased to see that the device will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich pretty soon.

So how do you take this news, is it about time or are you still curious to see what all the fuss is about ICS, and with the problems that have gone on before for many devices, perhaps you are a little skeptical that it will be worth the risk. Let us know your thoughts.
