Droid Razr Maxx improves smartphone battery life:
With the original Droid Razr having a rather poor battery performance, Motorola in their infinite wisdom then decided to rub salt in the wounds of those very owners with such an under performing battery and bring out a harder more macho brother to the original. Will the extra space and bigger battery help?
Thank god things are looking to improve in the smartphone battery life world.
Both Motorola and Samsung are making progress into adapting designs and adding extra capacity to the batteries that are contained in our smartphone devices, I have covered this issue on many occasions before, it is one of those unfortunate circumstances that come around every now and again, when Moores law accelerates so fast that other areas of technology that are needed to make another work, unfortunately do not catch up in time (at affordable levels to be competitive in a global market)
Larger battery longer life:
Not only is the new Motorola Droid Razr Maxx battery larger in capacity it is also larger in size, not massively so, but definitely noticeable when you look side by side, this said it has been reported that using the device is more favorable over its older brother and the slightly more curved angles make for a better fit.
We will be doing a more in depth review of this phone soon but want to hear from owners of the new smartphone when they have finally given it a good test run, what they think to the claims of improved battery life, and if the extra capacity has indeed allowed the device to work as perhaps intended.
So will this be a tipping point where we can now expect to see a slightly chunkier design to accommodate a bigger battery until we see the likes of emerging technologies allow us to have a super battery the size of a one pence piece?Anthony Munns
